At Nissan, our vision is that renewable energy will be used to power not just electric vehicles, but homes, offices, and even entire cities. Rather than continue to use fossil fuels that harm our environment and cause irreversible damage that will be detrimental to future generations, our innovative proposal is to leverage natural energy through cars to provide for our energy needs, and reclaim the green spaces where power stations were built.
A Growing Family
We're not the only ones who are committed to electric. Having invested four billion dollars globally in battery development and electric vehicle infrastructure (charging stations, etc.), we've teamed up with the European Commision on nine continent-wide growth projects. On top of that, we've partnered up with the likes of Ikea, Enel, Autogrill and others to make sure that electric is easily accessible, simplifying your everyday life. And it's only going to get bigger.
HOME COMFORTS
ELECTRIC VEHICLE TO GRID
Nissan is piloting the effectiveness of the vehicle to
grid system (V2G) in different European cities, before a large, concrete deployment all across Europe. As well as accessing renewable energy, drivers can connect their electric vehicles to the grid during cheap-tariff periods, and use the electricity stored in the vehicle's battery to power the home or sell back to the grid.
Charge Here, There and Everywhere
When you need to charge your electric vehicle, our vast infrastructure of charging points makes it easy. There are currently more than 2,300 Nissan Quick Chargers located across Europe, and with new partners helping to provide accessible EV stations everywhere, 5,500 are expected by 2020. Quick-charging your vehicle takes the same amount of time as grabbing the ingredients for dinner, so it's business as usual.
